The Art Hive in the Faculty of Education at McGill University is facilitated by an Art Mediator and different Artists-in-Residence, who work with students, faculty and staff to explore materials, to create new experiences together, to express themselves, and to make community. Functioning as a space for making art and also as a gathering place, the Art Hive offers a welcoming environment for the community of McGill. It supports professors across various disciplinary areas in Education wanting to integrate arts themes, strategies and assignments in their courses; it contributes to mentoring students in the arts; it supports the coordination and planning of exhibitions and other art activities within the faculty as well as for the general public, who are welcomed as participants in the Art Hive on Wednesdays.
