La Ruche d'Art: A hypermodal third space diary using arts-based methods

This hypermodal work draws upon the concept of third space as it serves to describe and explore La Ruche d'Art, a community art studio that also serves as a storefront university classroom. Hypermodality allowed for the creation of a third reflective research space (mirroring the role of La Ruche in the learning processes of participants). It also permitted me to think and respond differently as a researcher by drawing upon the potential for visual, print, and aural media to inform each other in the construction of knowledge about this space, the processes it nurtured, the research process, and myself. Integrating visual, aural and textual data creates meaningful analytical dialogues between these different data forms and opens a doorway for the Audience to enter this place of creation and connection.
