Place Cartier is an Adult Education Center, part of the Lester B. Pearson Schoolboard, that serves a large population of students, aged 16 to 80, at two campuses on the West Island.

Students attend Place Cartier for a variety of reasons that include completing social integration programming, working towards a High School Diploma, learning French and English conversation,   finishing pre-requisites for career training programs or obtaining the necessary credits to enroll at CEGEP or University.

Student life plays a big role at Place Cartier. Our staff and students are community minded and socially aware. As such, we have partnered with the CIUSSS-ODIM Youth Mental Health program and Concordia University's Art Therapy department, to offer, since September 2016, a weekly Art Hive to our students, staff and alumni. The Place Cartier Art Hive is an open art studio that welcomes everyone as an artist for creative exploration, self-care and building community on our campus. Participation is free of charge.  Members of the Place Cartier Community can drop in at any time during our opening hours!
