Discover our inclusive community Art Hive! We are a collective of graduates and students who met in the Master of Psychotherapy and Spirituality, Art Therapy Specialization program at St Stephen's College on the UofA campus in Edmonton. Our vision is to inspire creativity and build community. Our first art hive was held on October 7th, 2016.
During COVID-19, we are meeting virtually via Zoom. Join us from around the world!
Enter a liminal space for art making and community building, where we accept our own and each other's creativity with open hearts. Join in as we find inspiration from the rhythms and patterns of nature, engage body and soul in the creative process, expand our abilities and support one another. Come and go with your own project or follow a gentle directive ranging from mandalas and poetry; sculpting with clay; mobliles with found objects from nature; tempera or watercolour painting; weaving; collage and more. We believe everyone is an artist!
As always, our events are free of charge and open to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. We acknowledge and express gratitude for our presence on Treaty Six land. With humility, we include people of all spiritual, religious and political views, all genders and sexualities, and all racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We extend a special welcome to Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Salteaux, Stoney and Metis peoples, the original inhabitants of our region.
Please note that our Art Hive events are designed as an opportunity to engage in the creative process and refresh spirits. In the process, we hope to build skills, grow community, meet other art makers and foster social justice. It is not our claim or intention to offer art therapy.
