BYU had no trouble with visiting FCS Utah Tech last week, opening a 42-0 halftime lead on its way to a 63-7 rout. Bear Bachmeier finished 16-of-20 for 198 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for a score, while freshman Legend Glasker caught three passes for 65 yards and two TDs while also running for a score. The Cougars rolled up 308 rushing yards, led by Devaughn Eka, who went for 59 and a touchdown on only eight carries. The defense allowed only 184 yards and recorded three interceptions.
Arizona also rolled past an FCS opponent last week, taking a 35-7 win over visiting Northern Arizona. Noah Fifita threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-30 passing, and Kedrick Reescano ran for 48 yards and two scores on 10 carries. Giovanni Richardson made nine catches for 113 yards, and the defense finished with six sacks, 2.5 of them from Chase Kennedy.
The Cougars have won the last five meetings with the Wildcats to take a 14-12-1 edge in the all-time series, including a 33-27 double-overtime win in Tucson on Oct. 11. BYU finished 12-2 last season, with both losses to Big 12 champion Texas Tech, and beat Georgia Tech in the Pop-Tarts Bowl. Arizona's 9-4 2025 campaign ended with a loss to SMU in the Holiday Bowl.
